British Army veteran that specialised in Close Protection. This meant that I was posted to British Embassies in troubled locations. Despite the danger, I saw fascinating things and remarkable places in DRC, Algeria, Sudan and Iraq. An expedition to the Abu Klea battle site was among the highlights. Bullet cases from the gatlin gun on the 3 sided square were untouched since 1890s. The graves are still there since the Mahdi's Army buried the British troops after the battle.
